Problem Statement

The California Water and Environmental Modeling Forum (CWEMF) has embarked on an effort to develop astrategic analysis framework to guide the long-term development of analytical tools and data for California’s water management problems over the next ten years.  On June 15, 2004, the CWEMF held a “process” workshop to discuss the strategic analysis framework interim report, which outlines (1) the common principles for guiding the long-term development of analytical tools and data, (2) proposed long-term framework schedule and (3) the draft outline for the final report.  This workshop will solicit ideas on the long-term water management problems and options, relevant domains of data and analytical tools, and most importantly, ideas for the content and form of a strategic analysis framework proposal. Some relevant documents and background materials are on the Forum’s web site: www.cwemf.org
